IQM Academy Terms of Service
1. Service Provider
1.1. IQM Academy is provided by, and You are contracting with:

2. Content of the Service
2.1. IQM Academy (“Service”) is an online learning platform designed to teach for users (“Users” and “You”) how a quantum computer works and how to work with a quantum computer. The platform offers interactive learning experiences in relation to the foundations of quantum computing.
2.2. With IQM Academy You gain access to a set of exercises and other learning material which You may study at Your own pace. There are different modules which allow You to progress from the contents recommended for the beginner to the more advanced ones or focus directly on a specific subject.
2.3. If You decide to use the Service, while logged into Your user account, the IQM Academy keeps track of Your progress. In addition, upon completing the learning modules of the IQM Academy, You will receive a certificate that You can choose to share, for example, on social media. Please note that IQM Academy is not part of any official education system and does not, for example, provide creditable academic records.
3. Acceptance of Terms
3.1. By registering or by otherwise accessing or using the Service, You confirm that You have read, understood, and agreed to these IQM Academy Terms of Service (“Terms”). If You disagree with any part of these Terms, please refrain from using the Service.
3.2. You acknowledge that these Terms create a binding agreement between You and Service Provider, and Your use of the Service signifies Your acceptance of these Terms in their entirety.
4. User Obligations
4.1. You may only use the Service for Your own personal use. Personal use refers to the individual, non-commercial use of the Service for personal purposes, such as education and work-related personal learning. Personal use excludes activities involving profiting, reselling, distributing, or utilizing the Service for commercial gain or public consumption. In case You are looking for a customized training for companies or You have questions in relation to possible cooperation, please contact the Service Provider.
4.2. By accepting these Terms, You also agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations while using the Service. In addition, The Service should be used in accordance with good manners, and respectful behavior is especially expected in all situations where You may interact with other Users.
5. User Account and Privacy
5.1. The user account You create for the Service is personal.
5.2. The Service Provider takes reasonable measures to ensure the security and safety of Your user account and data within the Service. If You have problems with Your user account, You can contact the Service Provider (contact details at the end of these Terms).

6. Intellectual Property
6.1. All content provided through this Service, including but not limited to the texts, pictures, exercises, and learning materials such as videos, applets and animations, is the exclusive property of the Service Provider. The Service Provider retains all rights and interests in the intellectual property associated with the content. The content is protected by copyright laws and other intellectual property rights.
6.2. Users acknowledge and agree that they do not acquire any ownership rights or licenses to the content. Users are prohibited from reproducing, modifying, distributing, or otherwise disconnecting the content from the Service without explicit authorization from the Service Provider.
6.3. Notwithstanding the aforementioned, the Service Provider allows the use of the Service for education and academic purposes (non-commercial) as follows:
- A teacher can introduce the Service for their students, who may then use it under these Terms as other Users.
- A teacher can otherwise, within reasonable limits, refer to the Service or any of its content in their teaching, using appropriate source references. The origin of the material must always be easily identifiable.
7. Permission to Use Your Content
7.1. Some parts of the Service allow You to inter alia upload, send, or share Your content (for example Your text answers to exercises). There is no obligation to provide any content and You are free to choose what content You share. However, in order to complete the learning modules it is necessary to provide content for the Service. If You decide to upload or share any content, please make sure You have the necessary rights and that the content is legal.
7.2. You grant the Service Provider all the necessary rights to utilize Your content in order to provide the Service and develop and improve the Service (in line with the privacy policy). This applies to all content You create, regardless of whether the work threshold according to copyright law is exceeded.
8. Account Creation and Security
8.1. When creating an account, provide accurate information. Choose a strong, unique password, avoid sharing it, and regularly update it for confidentiality.
8.2. You are responsible for all activities under Your account. Report any unauthorized use or breaches immediately.
9. Termination and Suspension
9.1. If the Service Provider reasonably suspects or observes that You are not adhering to these Terms or Your use is otherwise violating these Terms or any applicable laws, the Service Provider reserves the right to suspend or terminate Your user account and Your access to the Service without prior notice.
9.2. In its sole discretion, the Service Provider may also choose to discontinue the Service altogether and if so, it will notify You about this decision through online means.
9.3. The Service Provider is under no obligation to retain any of Your information (such as information about Your progress) after You have deleted Your account or it has been terminated for any other reason.
10. Modifications to the Terms
10.1. The Service Provider reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes to the Terms will become effective upon their posting on the IQM Academy website or notification through other means as deemed appropriate by the Service Provider.
10.2. By continuing to use the Service after the modified Terms have been posted or notified, You acknowledge and agree to be bound by the updated Terms. If You do not agree with the modified Terms, You should discontinue using the Service.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis, without any warranties, guarantees, or representations of any kind, whether expressed or implied. The Service Provider does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, reliability, availability, completeness, or suitability of the Service for any particular purpose.
11.2. You acknowledge and agree that Your use of the Service is at Your own risk, and the Service Provider shall not be held liable for any damages or losses arising from the use or inability to use the Service.
12. Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction
12.1. These Terms and any disputes arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland.
12.2. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contract, or the breach, termination or validity thereof, shall be finally settled by arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the Finland Chamber of Commerce. The number of arbitrators shall be one (1), the seat of arbitration shall be Helsinki, Finland and the language of the arbitration shall be English.
12.3. Nothing in these Terms restricts or affects the rights of consumers arising from mandatory legislation (in relation to dispute resolution or otherwise to these Terms).
